GOLF, CASKS & WHISKY IN SPEYSIDE
The first Braeburn Whisky Golf Day

The first Braeburn Whisky Golf Day took place in August, giving a group of Braeburn clients the opportunity to spend some time visiting our client-dedicated warehouse in Speyside, enjoy some Highland hospitality and play a round of golf at one of the world’s premier golf courses. The inaugural edition of this annual event was held at the spectacular course at Castle Stuart. This beautifully situated course, with commanding views over the Moray Firth to the hills and mountains beyond, hosted the first ever European Tour event in the Scottish Highlands in 2011.

The event kicked off with a reception at the world-famous Quaich Whisky Bar at the Craigellachie Hotel. Our guests were then invited on an exclusive tour of our nearby client-use warehouse at Viewfield where they had the chance to learn more about the management and storage of their casks. Following the visit, guests enjoyed a whisky tasting of cask-strength drams followed by a dinner featuring a modern twist on traditional Scottish dishes. The next morning, guests were transported to Castle Stuart to play the 18 holes of this iconic golf course while taking in some spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, culminating in the awards of various prizes, including Best Round and Longest Drive.

According to Braeburn Whisky CEO Niall Brown, “This was a great way to give something back to our clients, as well as providing the opportunity for them to visit the warehouse and see first-hand how their casks are being stored and managed. It was great to meet the clients personally and spend some time enjoying the beautiful course at Castle Stuart. At Braeburn, we are determined to make whisky cask investment a rewarding experience in more ways than one, and I think events like these are an example of how we go that extra mile to do that. We’re very much looking forward to hosting more Braeburn Whisky clients in future.”

The next Braeburn Whisky Golf Day will be held in 2023, date to be confirmed.
